SPRINGFIELD, Mo – Drury Volleyball reverse swept Truman State ending their six-game skid to pick up their first Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) win of the season.
Â
Set one controlled by Truman State. Drury was not able to get anything started with the Bulldogs going on a few short runs. The second set started differently with Drury going up 6-2 before a 9-2 run and 6-0 run for Truman propelled them to the 25-17 win. Following a tough first two sets, the Panthers kicked it into high gear in the third giving the Bulldogs no room to breathe, ending the set on a 7-1 run. In the fourth set, Drury pulled away early but a late resurgence from Truman put them down two, 22-20. The Panthers were able to buckle up and hold on to the set 25-21. The decisive fifth set was a nail-biter. Drury reached eight first to flip the court. After the change, Truman went on a 5-1 run putting them three points away from the game. A timely timeout from Coach Bahner-Hill turned the tide and allowed Drury to finish on an 8-3 win and pick up the set 17-15.
