HAMMOND, Ind.– Drury completed a 3-0 weekend in the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament with two wins on Saturday at the Hammond Sportsplex & Community Center in Hammond, Indiana. The Panthers defeated Ohio Dominican 3-1, then swept Davenport in three sets to finish the event 3-0.
The wins give Drury a five-game winning streak, raising their record to 11-8. Ohio Dominican dropped to 7-10, while Davenport went to 8-11.
The Panthers won their first game of the day with a four-set win over Ohio Dominican. Drury won the first set 27-25 but dropped the second, 25-20. DU took over after that, cruising to a 10-point win in the third set and an 11-point victory in the fourth.
Kayli Duncan led Drury and set her season-high with 18 kills. The senior from Wichita, Kan., added 12 total blocks with two solo blocks and 10 block assists.
Lauren Tyler had 38 assists and
Mailie Chretien chipped in 19 digs.
Drury completed the event with a 3-0 win over Davenport, winning 25-22, 25-23, and 25-19.
Kaitlin Fasbender led Drury with 13 kills, had a .318 hitting percentage, and added two solo blocks and a block assist. Duncan added 11 kills, while
Lauren Tyler contributed 39 assists.
Mailie Chretien had a team-high 14 digs.
Abby Allen had a game-high 14 kills for Davenport.
The Panthers started the Crossover tournament with a 3-0 win over Thomas More on Friday.
Drury returns to action on Friday, Oct. 25 when they travel to Illinois Springfield for a 6 pm game.
