SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– 17
th ranked Drury outshot Quincy 25-3, but the Hawks kept the ball out of their net and forced a 0-0 tie against the Panthers at Harrison Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The draw put Drury's record at 11-1-3 and 9-1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Quincy went to 3-7-3 and 3-4-3 in the GLVC.
Of Drury's 25 shots, nine were on goal and Hawks goalkeeper Julia Mincher made eight stops while Quincy added a team save. Drury keeper
Katy Fitzler had three saves as each of Quincy's attempts were on target.
The Panthers threatened for most of the 90 minutes and had 12 corner kicks to Quincy's three. The Hawks put up a shot in the closing minutes in addition to a corner kick and free kick deep in Drury territory with 56 seconds remaining, but Drury's defense kept the game tied.
Tara Simon led Drury with six shots and two shots on goal.
The Panthers are on the road for their next game on Friday when they travel to Rockhurst for a 5 pm game in Kansas City.
