SPRINGFIELD, Ill.– The Drury women's cross country team finished sixth, and
Josie Diffendaffer earned all-conference honors at the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship meet in Springfield, Ill., on Saturday.
The Panthers finished with 184 points, 16 points better than seventh-place Rockhurst. Lewis swept the top five individual finishes and won the conference title with 15 points, while Southwest Baptist was second with 77 points, and Truman State was third with 82.
Josie Diffendaffer, a junior from Berthoud, Colo., was Drury's best finisher, coming in 16
th overall in the field of 140 runners in the six-kilometer race with a time of 22:14.45. Her time ranks 10
th all-time at Drury. Her top-20 finish also earned her a place on the All-GLVC team.
Alexis Workman was 38
th (23:48.07), and
Jasmyn Douglas was right behind her in 39
th (23:50.05).
Georgi Carolus came in 41
st with a time of 23:58.52, and
Morgan Miller was 50
th as she crossed the line in 24:28.16.
Hannah Smrcka from Lewis won the individual championship with a time of 20:53.42.
The Panthers head to the NCAA-II Midwest Regional Championship on Nov. 9 in Romeoville, Ill.
