BOLIVAR, Mo.– The Drury women's cross country team started their season with a fourth place finish at the Bearcat Classic, hosted by Southwest Baptist at the Bolivar Municipal Golf Course in Bolivar, Missouri, on Friday.
The Panthers came in fourth in the 12-team field with 132 points. 16
th ranked Pittsburg State won the event with 19 points, while Crowder Community College was second with 65 points, and Southwest Baptist was third with 66.
Josie Diffendaffer, a transfer from Chadron State, was Drury's top finisher as she came in 10
th among 115 runners and completed the five-kilometer race in 18:46.11. Carolus Georgi was 28
th (20:11.09),
Jasmyn Douglas was one spot behind her coming in 29
th (20:13.31), and
Alexis Workman was 31
st with a time of 20:18.69.
Ashley Sexton rounded out Drury's top five with a time of 20:26.15 and was 34
th.
Kate Strader from Pittsburg State won the individual crown at the meet with a time of 18:02.39.
The Panthers compete again in the Springfield Twilight at the Betty and Bobby Allison Sports Complex on Sept. 13.
