BOLIVAR, Mo.– The Drury women's cross country team started their season with a fourth place finish at the Bearcat Classic, hosted by Southwest Baptist at the Bolivar Municipal Golf Course in Bolivar, Missouri, on Friday.
 
The Panthers came in fourth in the 12-team field with 132 points. 16^th ranked Pittsburg State won the event with 19 points, while Crowder Community College was second with 65 points, and Southwest Baptist was third with 66.
                         
Josie Diffendaffer, a transfer from Chadron State, was Drury's top finisher as she came in 10^th among 115 runners and completed the five-kilometer race in 18:46.11. Carolus Georgi was 28^th (20:11.09), Jasmyn Douglas was one spot behind her coming in 29^th (20:13.31), and Alexis Workman was 31^st with a time of 20:18.69. Ashley Sexton rounded out Drury's top five with a time of 20:26.15 and was 34^th.
 
Kate Strader from Pittsburg State won the individual crown at the meet with a time of 18:02.39.
 
The Panthers compete again in the Springfield Twilight at the Betty and Bobby Allison Sports Complex on Sept. 13.
