Panthers prepare for their first full GLVC weekend at Harrison
Drury enters their third full week of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play with a match at home against Indianapolis, on October 4, and Illinois Springfield, on October 6.

The Panthers are currently 6-1-2 and coming off their toughest weekend of the season, where they went 1-1 with a win over #13 McKendree and a loss to now-ranked twentieth Maryville. Drury is currently receiving votes for the top 25. The leading scorer in the GLVC, Holland Hawkins, was named the conference's offensive player of the week following a three-goal weekend, moving her total on the season to eight. The Panthers look to continue their strong start to the season against a difficult Indianapolis team.

On Friday, Indianapolis comes to Springfield. The Greyhounds are coming off a 6-0 win against William Jewell last Sunday. Indy did fall to Rockhurst at home just two days prior, 2-1. This is the longest road trip that the Greyhounds will take but with a veteran-led team, Indianapolis should react in a positive way. Although 13 upperclassmen lead Indy, their two leading scorers are underclassmen with Mia Winters (So., six goals) and Clare Simmonds (Fr., three goals). They finish their trip on Sunday in Boliver against Southwest Baptist.

Sunday, the Panthers return to Harrison Stadium to play Illinois Springfield. The Prairie Stars had a roller coaster of a previous weekend with a 2-1 win over Southwest Baptist and then a 4-0 loss to Rockhurst. UIS plays in Rolla against Missouri S&T on Friday, so they will have the opportunity to get on the right track before playing the Panthers. The Prairie Stars are under first-year head coach Scott Myers who is led by senior goalkeeper Allison Mirimanian who is allowing 1.20 goals per game. Mirimanian did only play one half of UIS's most recent game before being replaced by redshirt freshman Makenna Miller who allowed three goals in 44 minutes played.

After this weekend, Drury hits the road again to Upper Iowa (October 11) and Lewis (October 13).
