SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury Volleyball hosted Willam Jewell on Senior Day and took down the Cardinals, 3-0.
William Jewell started the first set off strong, leading 11-7, until a 9-4 run sparked by a
Kayli Duncan block gave Drury the 21-19 lead. The Panthers would hold off the Cardinals, 25-23. The second set started the same way with Jewell getting out to an early 7-3 lead. The Panthers battled back to take the lead 13-12. William Jewell took the lead back and held on to it until 21-20. The Panthers ended the set on a 6-1 run to take a two-set advantage. The third and final set was controlled by Drury from start to finish with the Cardinals only having a lead for one point. The Panthers took the final set 25-16.
Three Panthers had double digit kills with
Mailie Chretien leading at 12,
Grace Gardner and
Kyla Clubb with 10.
Lauren Tyler assisted on 37 of the 47 kills. On the defensive end,
Kayli Duncan had two solo blocks and three assisted. There were five different Drury players tied with seven digs.
The Panthers close out their final homestand tomorrow against Rockhurst at 3 pm.
