SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Four members of the Drury wrestling team were named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team in a vote of league coaches.
Caden Howard and
Dillon Nichols were named Second Team all-conference performers, while
Will Kuster and
Ethan Smith were named to the Third Team.
Howard, a senior from Lenexa, Kansas, was named to the Second Team in the 125-pound weight class. Howard is 11-6 this season with three wins by Technical Fall, two by Major Decision, and two by Fall. He earned GLVC Wrestler of the Week honors on Jan. 23. The award marks the second straight all-conference honor for Howard.
Dillon Nichols was also named to the Second Team after posting 11 wins in the 149-pound class. The transfer from Northern Illinois and native of Mexico, Missouri, earned four wins by Technical Fall, two by Major Decision, and two by Fall.
Will Kuster was an All-GLVC Third Team selection at 165 pounds. The junior from Jefferson City, Missouri, went 6-5 after missing nearly a month with an injury. Kuster's all-conference honor is the third All-GLVC award of his career.
Ethan Smith was named a Third Team All-GLVC honoree in the 174-pound division. Smith went 10-9, winning three times by Fall, twice by Technical Fall, and once by Major Decision. The senior from Buffalo, Missouri, is an all-conference selection for the first time in his career.
The Panthers wrestling team is in Indianapolis for the NCAA-II Super Regional on Saturday. The tournament gets underway at 9 am with the top three in each weight class advancing to the NCAA-II National Championship tournament March 15-16 in Wichita, Kansas.
