EL DORADO, Ark.— The Drury Panthers finished among 12 teams at the Arkansas Collegiate hosted by Southern Arkansas at the 7,172-yard, par-72 Mystic Creek Golf Course in El Dorado, Arkansas, on Tuesday. Scores went up on the second day of competition as eight of the 12 teams in the tournament shot a higher score than in Monday's first round. The tournament was originally scheduled as a 54-hole event, but Monday's second round was canceled by rain and the event was shortened to a 36-hole tournament.
Southern Arkansas won the tournament by 20 shots as they won with a +31, 607. Northeastern State finished second at 51-over-par, and Henderson State was third (+52).
Hunter Jowers led the Panthers and finished tied for 12
th among 69 golfers and with a +12, 156. The junior from Jonesboro, Arkansas, posted a 77 in Monday's first round, followed by a 79 on Tuesday, which was Drury's best second-round score.
Gaige Lewis tied for 32
nd after shooting a +18, 162.
Clayton Kaiser and Will Claywell both tied for 37
th as both shot 165 (+21).
Tryn Titus ended the tournament tied for 61
st with a +33, 177.
Caleb Miller from Southern Arkansas won the tournament's individual championship, finishing five-over-par with a 149.
The Panthers compete again on April 5-6 in the Lewis Invitational in Chicago, Illinois.
