Panthers win at Southwest Baptist

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury picked up their second win of the weekend with a 5-2 win at Southwest Baptist on Saturday in Bolivar.
 
The 20th ranked Panthers improved to 13-3 and 3-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Bearcats went to 6-12-1 and 2-1 in the GLVC.
 
Drury went in front as they took two of the three doubles matches. The doubles point was decided went Sylvain Garin-Michaud and Chuy Gonzalez knocked SBU's Youssef Nabil and Ilyes Khelifi, ranked 26th nationally in doubles, 6-3.
 
Drury's top four singles players all picked up wins. Yaroslav Sharyy, ranked 11th in NCAA-II singles, stayed unbeaten this spring and improved to 12-0 with a 7-5, 6-3 win over 68th ranked Youssef Nabil. The was was Sharyy's third victory this spring against a nationally ranked singles player.
 
Marlon Wilken went to 11-1 with a 6-7 (7-9), 6-1, 1-0 (11-9) win over Bojan Radoman. Garin-Michaud and Gonzalez also posted singles wins for the Panthers.
 
Drury ends the regular season next Saturday at Quincy for an 11 am match in Quincy, Illinois.
