SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury swept Missouri-St. Louis 4-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference quarterfinals on Friday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
The Panthers (15-3) are the top seed in the West Division and advance to the semifinals and will play McKendree, the second seed in the East, on Saturday at 9 am. The Tritons ended their season with a 9-12 record.
Drury took a 1-0 lead after doubles as they won two of the three matches. The doubles point came down to the number three duos and
Yaroslav Sharyy and Mark Drozdetzskii cliched the 1-0 lead with a 6-2 victory over Marcos Navas and Tanin Ramnath.
The Panthers took each of the top three singles match-ups as
Yaroslav Sharyy won 6-3, 6-2,
Sylvain Garin-Michaud picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win, and
Marlon Wilken won his sixth straight singles match with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Juan Vigil.
The GLVC Tournament continues on Saturday and concludes with the championship match on Sunday at 9 am at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
