SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Panthers advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship with a 4-0 win over 21^st ranked McKendree in the tournament semifinals on Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
 
Drury, ranked 24^th nationally, improved to 16-3, while the Bearcats fell to 17-4.
 
The Panthers won the doubles round to take a 1-0 lead. Marlon Wilken and Lukas Rieber picked up a 6-2 win and Mark Drozdetskii and Yaroslav Sharyy clinched the point with a 6-4 win over Vishnu Prasad and Lorenzo Del Biondo.
 
Drury then advanced with singles wins from positions 2, 3, and 4 in their line-up. Sylvain Garin-Michaud gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead with a win over 66^th ranked Sabastian Holden, 6-1, 6-4. Chuy Gonzalez defeated Bendix Schroeder 6-3, 6-2, and Marlon Wilken sealed the win with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Vishnu Prasad.
 
The Panthers advance to the GLVC Championship and will play defending league champion Indianapolis for the league title at 9 am at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
