SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury scored goals in both halves and stayed unbeaten with a 2-0 win over Missouri S&T on Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium in Springfield.
The Panthers improved to 5-0-2 and 3-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Miners fell to 1-4 and 1-1 in the league.
Drury got on the board in the 21
st minute as
Tara Simon scored her second goal of the season while
Rachel Dzarnowski picked up the assist. The Panthers struck again midway through the second half as
Leah McDonald notched her third goal of the year.
Elena Perez had the assist, her team-leading fourth assist of the season.
Drury outshot Missouri S&T 26-2 and the Panthers put 11 shots on goal to S&T's two.
Katy Fitzler (5-0-2) got the win in goal, stopped two shots and earned her second straight shutout.
The Panthers are on the road for their next game as they travel to McKendree on Friday for a 5 pm game in Lebanon, Illinois.
