EDMOND, Okla. – Drury women's golf completed the first round of the Grace Shin Invite hosted by Central Oklahoma at The Golf Course of Edmond. The Panthers finished the first day tied for 12.
Drury was led by freshman Chole Wills, who finished the first round tied for 21st with a three-over par. Meanwhile,
Jade Carter ended the first 18 holes tied for 37th with a five-over par.
As a team, the Panthers (+31) enter the second day tied for 12th out of 19 teams in the field. Central Missouri leads (E), followed by Central Oklahoma (+4) in second place, and Arkansas Tech (+8) in third.
Turning to individual competitors, Central Missouri's Mia Rallo leads the individual race at five under. Ellen Spigner (Arkansas Tech) and Grace Hall (Central Oklahoma) are tied for second, shooting three under.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Among the team highlights, Drury recorded eight birdies.
- Chole Wills finished the first round tied for first on average strokes per par five at 4.50 strokes.
- Wills' round of 74 was the best of her career. The freshman is in line to have the best finish of her career.
- Avery Chappell completed her first round of the season.
