LAS VEGAS – Drury men's golf completed the National Preview in Las Vegas with a three-under par in the third round on Tuesday afternoon. The event was hosted by UMSL at Boulder Creek Golf Course.
Drury (E) jumped up one spot in the final round, ending the tournament in 11th place. Following the Panthers' third-best round in school history (281), Drury responded with a 285 today, tying for the 10th-best round in school history.
Gaige Lewis (-4) was Drury's top individual performer, moving up 13 spots today.
Zach Carter (-1) ended the tournament tied for 29th.
Lynn (-28) won the tournament, followed by Midwestern State (-26) and Missouri S&T (-23). Seth Bearden (Midwestern State) shot a 13-under to pace the field. CSU Bernardino's Aaron Parayno and Missouri S&T's Isaac Chern Yi To each shot -11.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Gaige Lewis shot back-to-back 69s, a season low round for him.
- Drury averaged 4.13 strokes per par 4, 7th best in the field.
- On par 5s, the Panthers averaged 4.55 strokes, 10th best.
- There were six Eagle+ for Drury, the second most in the field.
- 161 pars were totaled by Drury, the third most.
- Lewis recorded half of the eagle+ that Drury had as a team. Alex Wiseman notched two of them.
- Meyer Lively had 36 pars over three rounds.
