INDIANAPOLIS – Drury wrestling competed in the 46th annual Midwest Classic, hosted by Indianapolis, on Saturday, Dec. 13.
The Panthers sent nine wrestlers to compete in this year's tournament. Drury claimed nine wins on day one and will have Nate Wishne compete on day two.
Wishne earned two wins on day one, advancing to compete for a podium finish in the 141-pound bracket. The redshirt junior won his first matchup of the day with a tight 3-2 decision before falling by a 14-4 major decision. Wishne closed day one on a 5-2 decision.
Jeremiah Halter posted two wins in his first two matches, each by decision, before falling in the next bouts. Cole Robertson also earned two wins, both by decision.
Bryson Humphries and Gaven Bremenkamp both opened the tournament with falls at 2:01 and 6:31, before falling in their next two matches. Mason Knight also earned a win at 149 pounds with a 7-5 decision.
