Drury takes down McKendree in GLVC Quarterfinals

SPRINGFIELD, Ill.— Drury advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament semifinals with a 4-1 win over McKendree in Springfield, Illinois, on Friday.
 
The Panthers, seeded second in the West Division, move on with a 13-4 record. The Bearcats, the third place team in the GLVC-East, ended their season with an 8-16 record.

  • The Panthers took a 1-0 lead after winning two of the three doubles matches
  • Mark Drozdetskii and Chuy Gonzalez earned a 6-2 win
  • Yaroslav Sharyy and Lukas Rieber, ranked 23rd nationally in doubles, clinched the point with a 6-2 win over Luka Kalenic and Aimar Oregui
  • Drozdetskii gave Drury a 2-0 lead as he won his singles round 6-2, 6-0 over Giacomo Valerga
  • Lukas Rieber put the Panthers up 3-0 with his win in the number four match, 6-1, 6-4 over Luka Kalenic
  • Oscar Reis clinched the win in the number six match with a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 win over Felix Deidrichs
