SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Drury swimming and diving has completed its 2025-26 coaching staff with the addition of assistant coach Gergo Zachár, head coach Brian Reynolds announced Wednesday.

Zachár joins the Panthers swimming and diving program after a two-year stint as a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater, Keiser University in West Palm Beach, Fla. He helped the Seahawks capture their fifth consecutive men's national championship in 2023.

A native of Budapest, Hungary, Zachár also logged coaching experience with the Lightning Swim Team (2023). He also served as co-founder, recruiter and development coordinator with USAthlete Services, as well as recruiting coordinator for NCSA College Recruiting over the last two years.

A seven-time NAIA national titlist during his collegiate swimming career, Zachár brings a wealth of championship experience to Drury's tradition-rich program. He was a 25-time All-America honoree, claiming five individual national championships during his career at SCAD Savannah (2018-21) and Keiser (2022), including four-straight titles in the 100 back and another in the 200 back. Zachár also helped Keiser's 200 and 400 medley relay teams lock up championships as part of the Seahawks' run to the 2022 team title.

Zachár completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in advertising and branding at SCAD Savannah in 2021 and his MBA in marketing from Keiser in 2023.

Drury has captured 35 combined national championships, with Reynolds helming 33 of those squads during his 42-year tenure leading the DU program.

The Panthers open the 2025-26 season with their annual Scarlet and Gray Intrasquad meet on Sept. 27 at Breech Pool.
