INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced its Athletic Solutions Cross Country Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, with Drury's Cera Eckenroth and Tyler Harris earning honors following their performances at the Old Glory Gallop on Saturday.
A junior from Albuquerque, N.M., Eckenroth led the Panthers with a third-place individual finish in Dallas, completing the 5K in 16:52.7. Her time was 13 seconds faster than her previous program-record mark as she helped the women's team finish 11th out of 43 teams with 318 points.
Eckenroth earned her second GLVC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor this season after previously receiving the award Sept. 15. She becomes the first Drury women's runner to earn multiple weekly conference honors in a season since Claire McCune in 2018.
Springfield native Tyler Harris earned GLVC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors following a 13th-place individual finish at the Old Glory Gallop. Harris completed the 8K in 23:51.3, nearly matching his own program-record time. His performance helped the men's team finish fourth out of 43 teams with 153 points.
Harris earned his third career weekly conference honor, and previously received the award last season following his performance at the Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival.
Eckenroth, Harris and the rest of the Panthers return to action Nov. 7 when Drury hosts the GLVC Cross Country Championships at Allison Sports Town in Springfield, Mo.
