SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury men's tennis team swept their crosstown foe, Evangel, 7-0 on Saturday evening in Springfield.
 
MATCH NOTES

• Drury swept the doubles line to take an early 1-0 lead.
• On the first double's line, Emile Payment and Jad Rhissassi took an early 4-1 lead and pulled out the win 7-5.
• Matteo Pisu and Gabriel Castro led from start to finish to win the second doubles line 6-4.
• Connor Kitchin and Cole Merriman did not allow the Evangel third line to win a game.
• The first (Gabriel Castro), second (Caden Lingenfelser), third (Emile Payment), fourth (Jad Rhissassi), and sixth (Alexander Richardson) all won in two sets.
• Matteo Pisu (fifth) won in three sets.
• The wins for Castro, Payment, Rhissassi, Richardson, and Pisu were all their first career singles wins.
• Drury improves to 2-1 on the season with both wins coming in sweeps.

 
UP NEXT
Both Drury tennis teams will host Southeastern Oklahoma State on February 20, with the first serve at 7 pm.
