BOLIVAR, Mo. – The Drury men's and women's track and field teams placed sixth and seventh at the Bearcat Invitational, hosted by Southwest Baptist on Saturday, March 28.
On the field, Anna Talbot led the Panthers once again, placing second in the long jump with a distance of 5.71 meters and fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.34 meters, which ranks second in school history.
Gunner Bradshaw placed fifth in the high jump with a distance of 1.90 meters, and Braden Baker finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.51 meters.
On the track, Drury took first in the 4x800-meter relay as Luca Scholes-Robertson, Arturo Martinez, Kyle Keltner, and Nolan Moeller finished in 7:36.24. Tion McLeish, Adam Potocki, James Sly, and Taylor Harris followed with a fourth-place finish in 8:01.82.
Topi Alahuhta opened the day for the men with a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters in 14:47.74. Ethan Haynes and Chase Davis followed in fourth (15:09.83) and ninth (15:49.85).
Rylan Malloy earned a third-place finish in the 400 meters in 49.11, which ranks second in school history. Santiago Nunez placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a career-best 9:25.70.
Tion McLeish finished fifth in the 1,500 meters in 3:58.21, which ranks 10th in school history. Gabe Bauer and James Sly finished seventh (4:00.67) and eighth (4:01.25).
Freshman Qwentin Luginbill placed ninth in the 400-meter hurdles in 56.32, ranking fifth in school history.
On the women's side, Cera Eckenroth placed fifth overall, and first among Division II athletes, in the 1,500 meters in 4:45.25. Georgi Carolus followed in ninth overall in 4:57.89.
The women's 4x800-meter relay team of Cera Eckenroth, Jasmyn Douglas, Georgi Carolus, and Ella Hayter placed second behind Missouri State in 9:51.26.
Alya Diable finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.96, just .02 seconds short of the school record.
Jasmyn Douglas placed fifth in the 800 meters in 2:20.54.
Lauren Coleman finished seventh in the 100-meter finals in 12.25 after qualifying eighth in 12.16 during the preliminaries.
Josie Diffendaffer opened the meet in the 5,000-meter race, placing ninth in 17:53.08.
