SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury men's and women's track and field teams had a career day, setting six school records and earning four first-place finishes at the Mo State Invitational on Thursday, April 17.
The Panthers opened the day strong in Springfield with the 4x100-meter relay. Kaiden Tripp, Rylan Malloy, Troy Huff, and Jakob Buchberger set the tone for the day, placing second in 41.96, breaking their own school record. The women's quad of Liberty Cragun, Taylor Hopper, Anna Talbot, and Lauren Coleman finished fifth in 47.92, ranking third all-time in program history.
In the 1,500 meters, James Sly placed second in 4:03.63, and Trent Patterson followed in eighth in 4:10.14.
Caden Green ran a 15.50 in the 110-meter hurdles to place fifth.
Rylan Malloy set a career best in the 400 meters, finishing first in 48.20 and setting a new school record. On the women's side, Taylor Hopper placed eighth with a career best of 1:00.11, ranking sixth in program history.
In the 100 meters, Kaiden Tripp set a new school record with an eighth-place finish in 10.77. Troy Huff also set a career best, placing 10th in 10.85, ranking third in school history. For the women, Lauren Coleman had her best sprint of the season, placing ninth in 11.87.
Luca Scholes-Robertson claimed another first-place finish in the 800 meters in 1:53.35, a career best that ranks third in school history. Tion McLeish followed in fourth with a career best of 1:55.56. Adam Potocki and Tyler Kloeppel placed seventh in 2:03.05 and eighth in 2:06.90. Rachel Omoruyi led the women, placing ninth in 2:19.97, a career best that ranks fourth in program history.
Alya Diable improved her record mark in the 400-meter hurdles with her third-place finish, behind two Missouri State hurdlers, in 1:02.70. For the men, Qwentin Luginbill earned a first-place finish in 54.42, moving him into second all-time in school history.
The sprinters continued their strong performances as Troy Huff placed sixth in the 200 meters in 21.98, ranking second in program history. Jakob Buchberger finished just behind in 22.01, ranking third. Lauren Coleman was 0.15 off her career best while placing seventh in 24.45.
Ashley Sexton finished sixth in the 3,000 meters in 12:01.50.
The Panthers wrapped up track action with the 4x400-meter relay. Tion McLeish, Tyler Kloeppel, Adam Potocki, and Taylor Harris finished fourth in 3:31.95.
On the field, Braden Baker earned a first-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 14.26 meters, a career best and school record. Mason St. Clair finished fourth with a mark of 13.07 meters. On the women's side, Taylor Hopper finished third with a distance of 11.17 meters, ranking third in program history.
Bennett Weaver improved his record mark, finishing second with a throw of 57.54 meters.
In the long jump, Ethan Barr placed third with a distance of 6.62 meters. Braden Baker finished fourth with a mark of 6.55 meters. For the women, Taylor Green placed eighth with a jump of 4.91 meters.
Gunner Bradshaw tied for second in the high jump with 1.96 meters.

Drury track and field is set to compete at the GLVC Outdoor Championships, set for April 30 to May 2.
