BOLIVAR, Mo. – Drury track and field qualified three athletes for the finals on Day One of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Outdoor Championships on Thursday.
The Panthers opened the GLVC Championships with the women's 1,500 meters. Cera Eckenroth qualified for the finals on Saturday as she cruised to a first-place finish in 4:36.52, a new career best. Rachel Omoruyi also qualified, placing fourth in 4:36.94, a career best that ranks fourth in school history.
In the men's 1,500 meters, Luca Scholes-Robertson qualified for the finals, finishing third in 3:56.23.
Moving into the 10,000 meters, Josie Diffendaffer ran a career-best 37:26.14, finishing sixth. Topi Alahuhta led the men, placing third in 30:26.36, a career best that ranks second in program history. Ethan Haynes followed in sixth with a career-best of 30:40.59.
At the end of Day One, the men's squad sits tied for second with nine team points, while the women are in sixth place with three team points.
