INDIANAPOLIS – Drury men's tennis advanced to the GLVC Final with a 4-2 win over Maryville in Indianapolis on Saturday (May 2).
- Maryville jumped out to a 1-0 lead, winning the first and third doubles line.
- Matthieu Gachon earned Drury's first point with a straight sweep of the second singles line.
- Oscar Reis followed the suit of Gachon and took the sixth line in two sets.
- Maryville tied it at two on the fourth line with a win in straight sets.
- Shortly after Gachon and Reis followed, Drury's top singles player, Chuy Gonzalez, won 6-2 and 7-6 to put the Panthers up 3-2.
- Lulas Rieber was the clincher for the Panthers. After dropping the first set 3-6, Rieber responded with 6-3 and 7-5 set wins to give Drury the win.
- This is the first time since the 2024 season that Drury has reached the GLVC Final, and only the second time since the 2020 season.
UP NEXT
Drury will play Indianapolis on Sunday for a chance at the title. The time for the first serve is still to be announced.
