SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury pushed 8th ranked Lewis to five sets but fell 3-2 on Saturday at O'Reilly Family Event Center.
The Flyers (7-3 and 2-0 in the GLVC) owned the first two sets winning 25-12 and 25-14. The Panthers turned the game around winning the third set 25-18 and led throughout the fourth winning 25-20.
Lewis pulled away in the fifth winning the deciding set 15-6.
The Panthers dropped to 6-4 and 1-1 in the league.
Senior Brooke Antenen led the Panthers with 12 kills, 26 assists and she added 18 digs. McKenna Poynter had 24 digs for Drury while Emmalee Chrest had 11 kills.
Aly Schneider had 19 kills for Lewis while Abby Becker had 48 assists.
Drury goes back on the road on Tuesday for a non-conference match at Missouri Southern State. Game time is 7 p.m. in Joplin.
