KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Drury wrestling won their first ever Great Lakes Valley Conference dual with a 34-21 win over Bellarmine on Saturday at the Truman State GLVC Duals in Kirksville, Missouri. The Panthers went 1-1 on the day as the lost their second dual of the day to Indianapolis 34-6.
Drury built a 22-0 lead over Bellarmine after two forfeits and a win by Lawyer Morgan-Beckham in the 141-pound division and
Ben Stahlman, wrestling at 149 pounds.
Indianapolis pulled away from the Panthers in Drury's second dual on Saturday. Drury led 6-4 after three matches before the Greyhounds responded by winning the last seven matches. Lawyer Morgan-Beckham won for the second time on Saturday with a 5-2 decision over Andrew Frey at 141 pounds.
The Panthers end the day with a 2-3 record and a 1-1 mark in the GLVC. Bellarmine fell to 0-8 and 0-2 in the league while Indianapolis went to 11-5 and 2-0 in the conference.
Drury returns to action on Sunday in the Roger Denker Open hosted by the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.
