The 35
th-ranked Panthers emerged victorious, defeating Ouachita Baptist, the 37
th-ranked team in the nation, by a score of 9-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Drury men's tennis team improves to 10-1 on the year. The Tigers fell to 3-6 on the 2017 campaign.
The Panthers swept all three doubles matches.
Maximilian Hepp and
Sebastien Amato were victorious out of the first position, defeating Luis Chab and Juan Moncada by a score of 8-3.
Nico Hadeler and
Leonardo Cerri cruised out of the third spot, taking an 8-2 win.
Sacha Mourier and
Nico Sigloch battled past Dan Kaplun and Lennart Lonnemann at No. 2 by a score of 8-6.
The Panthers dominated singles play to seal the victory. Sigloch easily dispelled Kaplun 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4. 10
th-ranked Hepp posted a 6-3, 6-1 win at the top of the lineup over Lonnemann. Hadeler gave the Panthers a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 3.
In three set matches, Mourier got past Nair Adi by scores of 4-6, 6-0(10-6) at No. 5, and Amato outlasted Luis Chab at No.2 with scores of 6-2,4-6, 6-3. Cerri playing at No. 6, defeated Andre Stafano by scores of 7-6, 6-3.
