The Drury men's tennis team posted a dominant 8-1 victory over Harding Sunday at Cooper Tennis Complex.
The 35
th-ranked Panthers (8-1), claimed all three doubles points, with a 9-8 decision at the No. 1 spot, by
Sebastien Amato and
Leonardo Cerri. At No. 2,
Sacha Mourier and
Nico Sigloch cruised past Brandon Hogland and Pablo Trevino by an 8-2 score.
Paul Porcher and
Nico Hadeler won 8-4 over Neto Cacace and Adria Abella at the No. 3 slot.
With the loss, Harding falls to 5-5 on the year.
Amato played his third match of the season at the No. 1 spot, and claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win over A.J. Barrington. Sigloch shut down Cacace in dominant fashion at No. 4, by scores of 6-0, 6-0. A pair of DU freshmen, Porcher and Cerri, won their respective matches. Porcher by a 6-2, 6-3 mark at No. 3, and Cerri 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot. Mourier posted a 6-2, 6-0 win for DU at No. 5 singles, to remain unbeaten on the year 8-0.
Carlos Crisostomo, went three sets to claim a 3-6, 7-6(10-7) win over Hadeler at No. 2 for the Bisons lone win.
On March 10
th, Drury will play host to 12
th-ranked Northwest Missouri State, at Cooper Tennis Complex. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
