KANSAS CITY – The Drury men's tennis team put together a dominating road victory, 9-0 over William Jewell on Saturday.
The No. 17 ranked Panthers improved to 13-2 on the season, and 2-0 in GLVC play. The Cardinals fall to 5-8 overall, and 0-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
A pair of dominant doubles wins, 8-4 at No. 1 and 8-0 at No. 2, to go along with a forfeit win at No. 3, gave DU a commanding 3-0 lead.
Maximilian Hepp, the top ranked player in the Midwest Region, and 15
th ranked player in nation, had no problems in securing a 6-2, 6-2 win at the top of the lineup.
Sebastien Amato proved why he is ranked No. 7 in the region, winning at No. 2 over Bjorn Myers 6-1, 6-4.
Nico Sigloch and
Sacha Mourier also proved too much to handle for the Cardinals, with wins of 6-0, 6-1, and 6-1, 6-0 respectively.
Nico Hadeler improved his record to 11-4 on the season with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 4.
Drury will host UMSL in their first GLVC home match of the year on April 7. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at Cooper Tennis Complex.
