SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury men's tennis team will play McKendree in the quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament held in St. Louis, Missouri. Rain forced the original schedule to be pushed back a day. Drury and McKendree will play Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Forest Lake Tennis Club. The semifinals will be played Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center and the championship match will also be in that facility on Monday at noon.
The Panthers are 16-2, 5-0 in the GLVC and won the West Division title. They are the top seed in the West and are playing a McKendree team that is the fourth seed in the East. The Bearcats went 11-9 and 3-3 in the regular season. The two teams played earlier this year with Drury picking up a 9-0 over McKendree in Springfield on Feb. 5.
The winner faces the winner of a quarterfinal match between Lewis (13-9, 5-1) and Missouri-St. Louis (7-4, 3-2).
Drury has won seven GLVC tournament titles in the 11 years they have been the conference and last won the league postseason crown in 2015.
