SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury men's tennis team will advance to the NCAA-II national tournament for the eighteenth consecutive season and are seeded third in the Midwest Region.
The Panthers are 18-3 and will face Northwood (Mich.) in the opening round of the tournament on Saturday in Indianapolis, Indiana. Northwood enters the regional with a 10-10 record and is seeded sixth. The winner of Saturday's match will play the winner of second seeded Indianapolis (15-4) and seventh seeded Southern Indiana (16-10). The second round is scheduled for Sunday.
Drury is coming off of a second place finish in the Great Lakes Valley Confernence tournament. Last year, the Panthers advanced to the second round of national tournament falling at Indianapolis.
The NCAA-II national bracket is a 48-team team with the opening two rounds played at 16 regional sites.
The winner of the four-team bracket in Indianapolis advances to the round of 16 May 9-13 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
