QUINCY, Ill.– The Drury men's tennis team completed their 12th consecutive unbeaten regular season in the Great Lakes Valley Conference as they defeated Quincy 5-2 on Saturday in Quincy, Illinois.
The 20th ranked Panthers ended the regular season 16-3 and 6-0 in the GLVC to win the West Division title. The win was Drury's 77th straight victory in the league, and they have gone 77-0 in the conference's regular season since they joined the GLVC in 2007. Quincy dropped to 7-9 and 2-3 in the league.
The Panthers won all three doubles matches with Nico Hadeler and Lukas Stierling winning 8-0 over Danyil Vayser and Michael Lesko.
The Hawks picked up two singles wins, but Drury clinched the match a 6-0, 6-3 win by Hadeler and a 6-2, 6-1 victory from Augustin Diot.
The Panthers play again on April 20 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament held at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. Drury will be the top seed in the West Division and will face the number four team from the East in the quarterfinal round.
