SURPRISE, Ariz.- 13th ranked Azusa Pacific ended Drury's season on Thursday with a 5-0 win over the Panthers in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA-II national tournament at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona.
 
Drury fell behind 3-0 after doubles play. Two of the doubles matches were tightly contested as Augustin Diot, and Paul Porcher lost 8-6 while the tandem of Nico Hadeler and Lukas Stierling fell in a tie-breaker 9-8 (9-7).
 
Tony Pejic gave Azusa Pacific a 4-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-4 win in singles over Leonardo Cerri, and Oliver Frank clinched the match for the Cougars winning 6-1, 6-2 over Drury's lead singles player Nico Hadeler.
 
Azusa Pacific improved to 28-2 and will advance to the national semifinals.
 
Drury, ranked 21st nationally, ends their season with a 21-5 record. The Panthers were playing in the NCAA-II tournament for the 19th consecutive year and were in the quarterfinals for the second season in a row.
