AZUSA, Calif.- Drury University junior
Chaaz Ferguson-Cooper finished 23rd out of 43 competitors in the 400-meter hurdles at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California.
Ferguson-Cooper completed the event in 54.64 and finished fourth in his heat. Alison Dos Santos from Brazil and competing unattached to a collegiate program won the event and set a meet record with a time of 49.48.
Drury University track & field sent three student-athletes to the California meet that is one of the top collegiate track & field events in the country and attracts some of the top-ranked NCAA-I programs in the nation.
Thursday night, Claire McCune ran the 5000-meter run in 17:21.19 to finish 14th among 30 runners in her heat while Katie McCune posted a time of 17:44.61 in the 5000 meters to finish 18th among 36 competitors in her heat.
Drury's full track & field teams will be back together on April 26 when they compete in the Pittsburg State/Wendy's Tune-Up meet in Pittsburg, Kan.
