INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Drury Panthers won their opening round match of the NCAA-II women's tennis tournament edging Northwood 4-3 in Indianapolis, Indiana on Monday.

Drury, seeded fourth in the region, improved to 15-4 and will advance to Tuesday's sub-regional final to play top-seeded Indianapolis. Northwood, the number five seed, ended their season with a 13-5 record.

Josephine Jedrychowski clinched the match for Drury with a three-set win over Elizaveta Velichko, 6-0, 4-6, 6-4. The opening round came down to the last singles match as Northwood took a 1-0 lead winning two of the three doubles matches.
JiaQing Mo got Drury even with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Iryna Trystan and the Panthers went on to a 3-1 lead after wins by
Viktoriya Zheleva and
Yu-Ning Lee. The Wolves picked up a pair of wins to even the match at 3-3 but Jedrychowski, a senior from Cherbourg, France, won for the 17th time in 19 matches this season to send Drury to the next round.

The Panthers will play at Indianapolis on Tuesday at 10 am (Central) in the finals of Midwest Regional #1. The Greyhounds are 21-0 and ranked sixth in NCAA-II. The winner of Tuesday's match will advance to the NCAA-II championship site and the round of 16. The final four rounds of the national tournament will be played May 22-25 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
