SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Drury battled their way past Missouri-St. Louis to advance to the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference women's tennis championship tournament on Friday in Springfield, Illinois.
The Panthers, the number two seed in the West Division, move to the next round with a 13-5 record, while the Tritons, the third place team in the East, ended their season at 10-7.

- Drury took a 1-0 lead after winning two of the doubles matches
- The doubles point came down to the number one doubles match-up and the 28th ranked duo of Ewa Samberger and Leana Chanove winning in a tie-breaker 7-6 (7-4)
- Franca Piaggi won 6-4, 6-1 at number six to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead
- In match of nationally ranked singles players, 38th ranked Ewa Samberger got past 39th ranked Hannah Tse, 6-3, 7-5 to put Drury up 3-1
- The match was decided in the number three match as Antanina Novik rallied for a three-set win over Anna Favaron, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2
