SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury men's tennis team received an at-large bid to the NCAA-II tournament and will play their opening round game against Northwood (Mich.) at 3 pm (Central) in Detroit, Michigan.
The Panthers are 15-5 and are seeded third in the Midwest Regional while Northwood is 13-9 and seeded sixth. The winner will advance to the second round and will play the winner of second-seeded and host Wayne State (Mich.) and seventh-seeded Grand Valley State on Sunday at 10:30 am.
The team that advances on Sunday will head to the NCAA-II tournament's final site at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida May 21-24.
Drury is in the national tournament for the 22nd consecutive year and has an all-time record of 50-22 in nationals with 18 regional titles, 11 trips to the quarterfinals, three semifinals appearances and they were the NCAA-II Runner-Up in 2002. Last year the Panthers advanced to national quarterfinals for the second straight season.
