Drury Dozen- the top 12 moment's of '18-19: #9 DU volleyball rallies for 3-2 over Lewis

During the next several weeks, Drury Athletics will reveal the Drury Dozen – over favorite 12 moments from the 2018-19 sports season. The list was voted on by members of the Drury University athletics staff and others that covered DU Athletics.

The list on this countdown does not reflect the most significant moments from the year, although the magnitude of the game or event certainly played a part in our decision.

Ultimately, these were our favorite moments from the previous year and the ones that we will likely always associate with the 2018-19 Drury sports season.

#9 – Volleyball knocks off 4th ranked Lewis in 5 sets

It was a match that signified Drury's volleyball team was very much a factor on the national scene. Having already beaten five ranked teams, the Panthers hosted fourth-ranked Lewis on Sept. 22 and rallied from two sets down for a 3-2 with the fifth set going to Drury 17-15.

The Panthers were ranked 14th at the time, but 2018 marked the first time in program history Drury had cracked the top 25. Drury's win not only improved their record to 12-2 and 6-0 in the GLVC but was a clear sign that their incredible start was no fluke.

The Panthers would go on to not only earn their first bid to the NCAA-II tournament, but they were awarded a number one seed and a host bid to the Midwest Regional.
