During the next several weeks, Drury Athletics will reveal the Drury Dozen – over favorite 12 moments from the 2018-19 sports season. The list was voted on by members of the Drury University athletics staff and others that covered DU Athletics.
The list on this countdown does not reflect the most significant moments from the year, although the magnitude of the game or event certainly played a part in our decision.
Ultimately, these were our
favorite moments from the previous year and the ones that we will likely always associate with the 2018-19 Drury sports season.
#10 – Claire McCune wins her second straight GLVC cross country title, Nov. 3
She did it again! One year after becoming the first Drury runner in program history to win the Great Lakes Valley Conference cross country championship,
Claire McCune captured her second straight conference title.
Only a sophomore, McCune has won GLVC Runner of the Year honors in both of her collegiate seasons. Her win on Nov. 3 also extended her unbeaten streak against Division II runners as it was the sixth consecutive meet that season that she finished ahead of every D-II runner in the field.
McCune's conference championship also helped the Panthers to their best finish in program history as they came in third.
