CHESTERFIELD, Mo. - The Drury Panthers placed 13
th place in a 19 team field in the final day of competition at the Saints Columbia 300 Classic hosted by Maryville University in Chesterfield, Missouri.
Drury posted a 5-8 record for the tournament in Baker matches and finished with an average score of 177.9. Number one ranked McKendree claimed the team title and went 12-1 with an average score of 207.5. Fourth-ranked Arkansas State placed second (197.1), and Wisconsin-Whitewater took third (194.8).
Drury went 1-2 in the final three matches of the tournament, falling to Valparaiso 820-692 and Lewis 899-828, and beating Kentucky Wesleyan by a score of 782-660.
Bailey Taylor of McKendree won the individual title with a 229.60 average. For the Panthers Juenger took 24
th (194.40) to pace all Drury bowlers.
"We were not as productive today as we had hoped for losing two matches early but rebounding and winning the last one, said Drury Head Coach
Larry Hughes. "Overall not a bad tournament for us especially considering the win over #2 Sam Houston State. We have a lot to work on before our next trip in three weeks to Arkansas State."
Drury will return to action on February 14-16 at the Mid Winter Invitational hosted by Arkansas State in Jonesboro.
