SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury women's bowlers Anna Bartz and Sydney Horton were named honorable mention All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selections in a vote of league coaches last week.

Horton, a junior in eligibility from Kansas City, Missouri, earned the second all-conference selection of her career. Two years ago, she was the Freshman of the Year in the GLVC.

"With Sydney graduating this year, I've sadly only had the opportunity to work with her for a little over a year, but in that time in working with her, I've seen her grow as both a student-athlete and as a human being," said Drury head coach Mitch McGee. "She's been a leading figure on this team and exemplifies the character and hard work needed to be not only a great college athlete but a great teammate as well. While I wish she had more time with the program, I know she's going to bring those same great qualities to whatever she decides to do post-graduation, and her legacy here will be left within her teammates, who I know she's had a great impact on."

Bartz is a sophomore from Jenison, Michigan, and earned postseason honors from the league for the first time in her career.

"Anna is one of the hardest-working student-athletes I've had the pleasure of coaching," stated McGee. "Not only does she hold the highest individual season average of any previous player in program history, she managed to do so by increasing her average in a single season by over 20 pins while also dealing with a serious wrist injury. She's the epitome of hard work, dedication, and integrity, and I'm excited to see her continue to grow and progress."

Drury completed their sixth year of intercollegiate competition at the NCAA level in 2021-22.
