SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— A clinching victory by
Kseniia Eremina (6-0, 6-3) at No. 6 singles gave the Drury women's tennis team a 4-3 victory over Oklahoma Baptist on Friday at Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
Oklahoma Baptist claimed the doubles point to start the match with a pair of 6-2, 6-3 wins at the 1 and 3 spots in the lineup. Drury was able to win four singles matches to claim the win. Among the key wins was a three set victory by
Viktoriya Zheleva at No. 2 by scores of 6-7, 6-3, 6-2.
The Panthers improved to 4-1 while Oklahoma Baptist fell to 2-3.
Drury returns to the court on Sunday, Feb. 23, against Newman at the Cooper Tennis Complex with first serve set for 10:15 a.m.
