SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury University Athletics set a program record with 264 student-athletes honored as GEICO Academic All-GLVC performers. The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced their list of academic award winners for 2019-20 on Tuesday.
 
Drury's 264 award winners are 44 more than last year when they set the previous program record, is 88 more than three years ago, and DU Athletics has more than doubled their total of 121 from 2009-10.
 
The GEICO Academic All-GLVC honor is bestowed upon student-athletes who meet a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 through two semesters of an academic year at the institution.
 
The Drury baseball team had the most honorees with 32 recipients of the Academic All-GLVC award. The women's cross country had 11 of the 12 student-athletes on their roster win the award, and 23 of Drury's 26 women's soccer team members also garnered the honor.
 
27 Drury student-athletes received their fourth Academic All-GLVC award.
 
Earlier this week, the Great Lakes Valley Conference announced their Team Academic All-GLVC winners and Drury had 15 teams honored for their work in the classroom. The GLVC is announcing all of their 2019-20 academic awards this week.
