SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- The Drury women's tennis rebounded from a loss in their opener last week with a 7-0 win over Northeastern State on Saturday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.

The Panthers improved to 1-1 while the RiverHawks fell to 0-1 to start their season.

Drury started with a 1-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches, then swept all six singles rounds.Â

Maria Fernanda De la Torre made her season debut in the number six singles position with a 6-0, 6-1 win.
Clara Kuehnle cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win, and
Alma Abazi won her match-up at the number two spot, 6-3, 6-1.

The Panthers compete again on Fri., Feb. 19, when they host Oklahoma Baptist for an 8 pm match on the Cooper Tennis Complex indoor courts.
