SPRINGFIELD, Mo.—The Drury women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches and five of six in singles play to take a 6-1 win over Newman at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield on Sunday.
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead after doubles as Drury's number one team of
Kseniia Eremina and
Viktoriya Zheleva clinched the match's first point a 6-4 win.
Drury took five singles matches, winning in positions two through six. Maria de la Torre won 6-2, 6-0, and
Kseniia Eremina made quick her of her opponent 6-2, 6-1.
Alma Abazi improved to 4-0 on the season with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.
The Panthers improved to 3-1 on the season with the win.
Drury goes on the road for the first time this year next Saturday when they travel to Arkansas Tech for a 1 pm match in Russellville, Arkansas.
