SPRINGFIELD, Mo.—The Drury women's tennis improved to 5-1 as they swept McKendree 7-0 on Sunday at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
Drury took a 1-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches and Maria De La Torre and
Clara Kuehnle won 6-0.
De La Torre, a sophomore from Peru, didn't surrender a point as she won her number six singles match 6-0, 6-0.
Nastasia Jedrychowski, playing in Drury's number one position, earned a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Alma Abazi improved to 6-0 on the season with her 6-1, 6-2 victory in Drury's number two slot.
Sunday's match was the first outdoor match of the year and the Panthers are scheduled to be outdoors again for their next match when they take on Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday at 1 pm.
