ROMEOVILLE, Ill.— The Drury Panthers advanced to the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament semifinals with a 4-1 win over Maryville on Friday in Romeoville, Illinois.
 
The Panthers, the number three team from the West Division, improved to 12-4 while Maryville, seeded second from the East, ended their season with a 7-4 record.
 
Drury took a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point. Clara Kuehnle and Viktoriya Zheleva won their match 6-2, and the Panthers clinched the point on a win by Maria De La Torre and Kseniia Eremina, 6-3.
 
In singles, Maria De La Torre stayed undefeated and went to 11-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Maria Gouveia. Clara Kuehlne picked up another point for the Panthers with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Emily Orlove, and Nastasia Jedrychowski clinched the quarterfinals win playing in Drury's number two singles position as she went three sets to topple Georgina Cupper, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
 
The Panthers advance to play Southwest Baptist, the number one seed from the West Division, on Saturday at 9 am in Romeoville, Illinois.
