ROMEOVILLE, Ill.— 13^th ranked Southwest Baptist shut out Drury 4-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference semifinals on Saturday in Romeoville, Illinois, to advance to the league finals on Sunday.
 
The Panthers ended their tournament run with a 13-4 record, while the Bearcats advanced with an 18-5 mark.
 
Drury was edged in doubles 2-1. Alma Abazi and Nastasia Jedrychowski won their match 6-4, but SBU won the number three doubles match 6-2 and clinched the point in a 7-6 tie-breaker as Catarina Zheng and Elsa Pascual squeaked past Clara Kuehnle and Viktoriya Zheleva.
 
Zheleva then retired in her singles match, and Elsa Pascual defeated Kseniia Eremina 6-0, 6-3. The Bearcats clinched the semifinals win in the number six singles spot in Lola Cincunegui's 6-4, 6-0 win over Maria De La Torre. The loss was De La Torre's first of the season as the freshman from Peru was 10-0 entering Saturday's match.
 
Southwest Baptist will play Indianapolis in the GLVC championship on Sunday in Romeoville, Illinois.
