SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Panthers improved to 6-1 with a 5-2 win over 17^th ranked Washburn at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield on Sunday.
 
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead winning all three doubles matches. The Panthers then took four singles matches with every round tightly contested. Alma Abazi, playing in Drury's number two position, earned a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 win over Isabella Martensson. Kseniia Eremina clinched the win for the Panthers, outdueling Candance Lynn 6-4, 7-6.
 
Drury improved to 5-1 and won both matches during the weekend after a 7-0 victory on Friday over Illinois Springfield in a non-conference contest. The Ichabods dropped to 4-2.
 
The Panthers are back at home on Friday when they host Northwest Missouri State at 8 pm in the Cooper Tennis Complex.
