EMPORIA, Kan.— Drury opened the 2022 outdoor track & field season Friday and Saturday at the ESU Relays hosted by Emporia State.
The Drury women's team posted two top-five finishes while the men's squad saw four runners post top 10 finishes.
Women's Highlights
- Margeaux Shelton came in third in the high jump clearing 1.68 meters
- Jolie McClellen was fourth in the javelin (44.20 meters)
- Jacy Rule was 11th in the 400 meter dash (59.18)
- Jayme Sue Vermaas was 12th in a field of 40 runners in the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:58.52
Men's Highlights
- William Kershaw posted a sixth-place finish among 104 runners in the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:57.22
- Drury runners came in 9-10-11 in a 55-runner field in the 5000 meters as Matt Moler was 9th (15:09.46), Colby Garner was 10th (15:15.08) and Kershaw was 11th (15:16.39)
- Liam Lynch was 10th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.28
The Panthers compete again on Saturday at the SBU Bearcat Invitational hosted by Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Missouri.
